Jon Cournoyer
Music Director, Instrument: Acoustic Guitar, Harmonica, Vocals

Composer and principal member of the band Old War Shirt. He enjoys writing songs and the art of recording sound.He also likes to paint pretty pictures from time to time and has had several solo exhibits of them over the years. Jon works inthe arts here in Los Angeles, and before that served as assistantand curator to iconic feminist artist Judy Chicago in New Mexico for 3+ years. Aside from his own compositions and member of the Hootenanny All-Stars, he and fellow musicians are also recording a collaborative musical album with lyricist and renowned artist Raymond Pettibon. Jon spends the majority of his daytime hours dreaming of horseback riding in the South Dakota hills,where he is an enrolled member of the Rosebud Sioux tribe.


  Bob Rokos
Instrument: accordian, trombone, vocalist
(Trombone, Accordian, Vocals) - Bob is very excited to be a part of this production of Letters To The President. While Bob has played the trombone his whole life, he only picked up the accordian a little over a year ago. He plays with a group of 17 different accordianists which make up The Accordianaires. Bob comes from Chicago where he was the resident sound designer for Trap Door Theater. His sound designs have earned him an After Dark Award for Sugar Down, Billie Hoak and a Jeff Citation for his work on Shattered Globe's Coyote on a Fence. In LA, his work can be heard in The Beastly Bombings, Sky Pilot's Hellcab and Requiem for a Heavyweight. He also composed music for the feature film Kwik Stop.


 

Nicolas Barry
Instrument:
Bass Guitar, Keyboard, Percussion

Composer/performer and co-founder of LA based music production house, Circle Of Sound. Some time ago, Nicolas was born in Buenos Aires, Argentina. He sold his soul to the devil to become a musician at the age of 7!! A graduate of Berklee College of Music in Boston MA, he moved to Los Angeles in 2000 and currently resides in Santa Monica. Along with Tomas Jacobi (also playing in this show tonight!)he founded Circle of Sound. Together they have scored music fornumerous commercials for Toyota, Microsoft, KCRW, MTV and manyothers. Their work has also been featured in numerous films, documentaries, TV shows and many other visual arts projects forwhich they have received a few awards. As a performer, Nicolas enjoys playing many instruments, but he is in love with the bass. So that's what he will be playing in the show!....mostly. Some people say he's a decent comedian, but he doesn't think so. Mr. Barry is immensely proud to be a member of the Hootenanny "All-Stars"!

 

  Tomas Jacobi
Instrument: guitar, charango and hang drum

Tomas was born and raised in Buenos Aires, Argentina, and traveled to Boston, MA in 1996 to study at Berklee College of Music, where he graduated inFilm Scoring and Music Composition. In 2000, he moved to Los Angeles to pursue a career in music. He enjoys playing any musicalinstrument he can get a hold of, sometimes playing around with stuff he finds in the streets. Along with Nicolas Barry (also playing in this show!) he founded Circle of Sound. Together they have scored music for numerous commercials for Toyota,Microsoft, KCRW, MTV and many others. Their work has also been featured in numerous scores for films, documentaries, TV shows and many other visual arts projects for which they have received a few awards. He now resides somewhere in Santa Monica.


  Dustin Poulton
Instrument: keyboard, percussion

Dustin is based in Santa Monica. He plays a variety of instruments and is also co-member of the rock band Slings. In addition to music he enjoys driving his mini-van and walking and feeding his large pug.

 

 

Nicholas Staub
Instrument: drums

Born in Connecticut, raised in Argentina, and back in the United States to pursue his carrer as a musician. Other than being a dedicated student of audio engineering, he enjoys bicycling, puzzles and outdoor barbecues.
